Government returns faulty airplanes.

MEXICO CITY, Nov 19, 2002 (El Universal/Corporate Mexico by Internet Securities, Inc. via COMTEX) -- The Secretariat of Public Safety will return six useless airplanes that were purchased during the previous administration and will demand that the makers return the money invested. The planes include a US$8 million Grumman and two Spanish Casa 30-passenger airplanes that cost nearly US$5 million each.Secretary of Safety Alejandro Gertz said the planes were "so deteriorated that after a few days the turbines no longer functioned, and each turbine costs more than US$1 million." Gertz added that legal action has been taken against the two officials responsible for the purchase.
